Mixed Bags Review&&Giveaway!

"It’s a rather common story; we both had stressful careers, “retired” to have kids, volunteered 1000 hours a year for 100 different organizations….and then started to think of ideas for a business. The ideas were…well…most of them ended in the “didn’t work file.” But then one day, a very simple idea took shape.

We were both carrying our own grocery bags to the store….you know…those ugly green ones; the ones with all the store logos; the ones that were too small to hold anything….

We both thought…why don’t we design a “great looking reusable grocery bag…a bag with no logos, a bag that could be used for groceries and a million different things….

So here we are. We introduced Mixed Bag Designs in February 2008, and have been having a ball ever since. We love our bags. The prints and colors make us happy. The fact that we are helping our environment makes us happy. And the fact that our customers LOVE our bags…makes us real happy.

Jan and Caryl"

I don't know about you, but I've noticed that like straws, plastic bags are another horrible thing that gets thrown away without a second thought of recycling. You get them everywhere like grocery stores, convenience stores, and even take-out restaurants. Then you take them home and either save them for later use or just toss them into the trash, but after they leave your trash can, they end up in landfills causing major damage to the environment. So... how does one prevent something as widely used as plastic bags? They recycle or use re-usable bags! One company is getting serious about it.

Mixed Bag Designs has revolutionized the way everyday people use bags. Their products are made with woven polypropylene that's used to make yogurt cups. 10-40% of that is made from recycled post-consumer use. The bags themselves are also completely recyclable! You can use them over and over again for just about anything and they'll hold up to 50lbs.

I got 4 wonderful bags from Mixed Bag Designs and each one of them has its own unique function! They were a little different than what I was expecting, but that made them so much better. The plastic used to make them is easy to clean with just a quick wipe down using a damp rag. And they feel extremely durable. I really feel better putting my things in one of these simply because you feel safer using it.

This first one I chose was the Damask File Box. It's the perfect size for keeping files, books, and any other important information. I loved the flat bottom that allows it to stand on its own. The classy design is very professional and it looks alot better than a bulky file cabinet taking up space in your room. The handles are also nice for quick and easy transportation. Overall, this is extremely handy and practical for anyone who needs to keep themselves organized.

The next back is the Pink Medallion Weekender Zip Tote. This bag is fairly big and makes a wonderful beach bag! You can put anything in it and it zips right up ready to go. The design is so cute too. People always ask me where I got it from. The zipper is my favorite feature on this bag, it's so much easier to pack things when you have a zipper to keep it safe!

This is one of my favorites! I got the Red Plaid Duffle Bag. I've had duffle bags in the past and ripped every single one of them! I love this bag because it's so sturdy and durable. You have plenty of room to stuff your clothes in it and it's very lightweight. It also folds up easily when you're done so you can store it anywhere for later use.

The last one I got is the Damask Insulated Grocery Store Bag. Not only can you use it at the store for cold items, but you can also use it to transport anything that has to stay cold! My fiance, Brent, is diabetic and this bag is perfect for carrying and keeping his Insulin cool on long trips. We can just stick an ice pack in it and not worry about it. Down here in Georgia, we have to find creative ways to beat the heat and this bag is great!

I love my bags from Mixed Bags. They have such a wide variety and a new Fall Line out with brand new patterns and products! You can find a bag for every need. They have lunch boxes, laptop cases, and even iPhone cases. In fact, if you head over to their website and order something, put in the code: review for free shipping until August 20th!

But if you don't want to buy anything just yet, they have given me a wonderful opportunity to host a...
